On Friday 8th November Year Three and Year Six visited St Peter's Church in Swingfield.
The purpose of the visit was for the children to understand how local families were affected by WW1 and WW2.
They worked in pairs to identify a soldier from the Litchfield gate and tracked their life through information provided in the church.
The children also learnt about evacuees, looked at an evacuees suitcase and wrote an identity tag.
Year Six had prepared a war poem that was shared with all and gave a real sense of atmosphere to the event.
The event was organised and run by The Swingfield Community Group and we would like to thank them for their support.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
