Well being

Both the children and the staffs well being is of upmost importance to us here at Selsted.

We ensure our environment is nurturing and supportive.

Each class has access to a 'well being area' should a child need time out of class for any reason.

Vulnerable children are allocated a school mentor; these can be short or long term depending on the reason a mentor is needed.  Mentors meet with the children every week to 'check in' and see how they are.

The senior leadership of the school work hard to support staff well being also and do what they can to ensure there is not excessive workload.

Our most powerful tool for well being in the school is our dog Luna.

She has been part of the school community for three and a half years and provides cuddles and soothing powers when needed!
